This is me. In the World.

Two years ago, while traveling in Spain, I was set straight by a dear friend regarding something I clung to in order to establish my identity. As is common when traveling, I was often asked where I was from, and I always responded, "New York" as that had been my last stopping point. On a hot afternoon in Sevilla, my friend overheard this exchange and set me straight: "YOU are not FROM New York. (I'm not?) "People like you are OF the world, you are not FROM New York. Whatever you do, wherever you go, the world is your home...no matter where you have been or where you are going, you will always be of the world. Paige del Mundo. Sounds much better don't you think?" I thought it sounded cartoon-characterish, but I knew his idea was right. Exploring the world - locally or faraway - has always been my passion. So here is the story of Paige del Mundo. Paige of the World. These are my pages written while being in the world. I hope you will enjoy reading as much as I enjoy telling my story.

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign.

Its no secret to those that know me, that when I am caught between a 'yes' or 'no', a 'stay' or 'go', I look to the universe for an answer. Whether it be a certain string of numbers, a song on the radio, or just a thought that springs from my intuition. I have always believed that guidance can come from more than what is in front of you.

In choosing to be on this train, hell! in choosing to be on this continent, I looked to the universe for guidance. I made a deal with myself that I could only make the trip if my ticket costs came in less than $1k, but it had to be confirmed before September 1. Well, low and behold for three nights in late August the price dropped to $998, and I was Europe bound. Since booking my ticket I had several reservations... was the time right? was I spending too much money? And everytime I posed the question to the universe, it said go. But now that I was in Italy, where would I find guidance in world that didn't speak my language?

Getting off the train I still was perplexed, but I knew my 'guide' would not let me down. In looking up, I had my answer. 'Binario 28' (Track 28). 2-8 my favorite, and most lucky combination. There was my sign. I was on the right path to somewhere (other than meeting friends in Rome). And I knew I would stay on the path I was meant to be if I let my heart be my guide, looked for the telltale signs, and followed my intuition. I was going somewhere... other than Italy... I just had to learn to read the map.
